The Micro-Folie of Amélie-les-Bains Palalda
A CULTURAL SPACE FOR EVERYONE
A global and adaptable cultural project
Inspired by Bernard Tschumi's emblematic Folies in La Villette Park, Micro-Folies are innovative cultural spaces serving communities. They have three main objectives:
• Allowing everyone to access content produced by partner national cultural institutions,
• Promoting creation by inviting local artists to perform within the Micro-Folie network,
• Animating communities by creating new spaces for expression that are open to all, completely free, and based on cooperation and knowledge exchange.
The Micro-Folie of Amélie-les-Bains includes a digital museum, a fab lab, a micro-library, a friendly gathering space called Le Grain de Folie for shared experiences, and a performance area in the La Folia garden.
Thousands of digitized masterpieces from remarkable cultural institutions and museums are available on a giant screen connected to tablets.
A virtual art gallery where amateurs and novices alike can explore various types of works (paintings, sculptures, musical or theatrical pieces) in detail.

THE DIGITAL MUSEUM

Two visit modes
SELF-GUIDED VISIT
Alone, with family, or friends - A fun and interactive discovery of masterpieces from the collections of the most prestigious national and international museums. A guide launches a playlist (a looping 30-minute video). Each visitor, on their tablet, chooses the works they wish to explore. Labels, complementary works, zoom options, and games for younger audiences ensure a personalized experience at their own pace.
GUIDED VISIT
Alone, with family, or friends, based on the schedule or by reservation for groups.
Attend artwork presentations, discussions with artists, participate in workshops, propose themes, or even use the conference mode to share your knowledge—there's something for everyone.
For groups, schools, students, associations, etc.
Reservations must be made at least fifteen days in advance.

THE FAB LAB
3D printer, digital embroidery machine. This space is for enthusiasts, designers, artists, DIYers, as well as anyone who wants to develop their creativity and explore digital technologies.
THE LIBRARY-GAME LIBRARY
This Media-Folie offers a selection of books on art as well as games from the educational kits of the RMN [National Museums Union]. Activities related to these different resources enhance your experience of the Digital Museum.

THE SOCIAL SPACE AND STAGE SPACE
The Grain de Folie will be a place of creativity and social connection. Talks, creative workshops, Repair Café, knowledge sharing... the activity offerings will grow with ideas from the Micro-Folie audience.
La Folia, a micro-stage, will be set up in the garden during the warm season to host artists, associations, schools, and anyone wishing to showcase their creations.

The Micro-Folie is open to the public from Wednesday to Friday, from 10 AM to 1 PM and from 2 PM to 5:30 PM
