Fête de la Rousquille

Come and celebrate the famous local speciality, the rousquille, during a festive day in the heart of the town centre. On the programme: gourmet entertainment, craft discoveries, Catalan traditions and a friendly atmosphere.



11am - Amateur rousquille competition: enter the competition, open to all, and try your hand at winning over the judges with your own recipe. Registration on site.



All day (10am-6pm) - Local produce and craft market: avenue Vallespir and rue des Thermes. Local products and craft creations with entertainment: fun stand by Création Catalane with espadrille throwing, games for children (top of rue des Thermes), wine tasting by Caves du Roussillon (rue des Thermes).

Exhibition of old photos of the rousquille (Chapelle Saint-Valentin, avenue Vallespir).



Parade of the rousquille float and Catalan folk dances: two parades during the day, in the morning and afternoon, with street entertainment and traditional shows.



4.30pm - Sardanes and initiation: Place de la République. Try your hand at the traditional Catalan dance, the sardana, with the association Les Vieux Croutons.



Evening - Festive meal based on rousquille: Espace Méditerranée. Special menu based on rousquille, accompanied by the Clique Fanfare Harmonie de Saint-Laurent-de-Cerdans. Price: €15 per person. Reservations essential at the Tourist Office.
