CHAPELLE DU ROSAIRE

Description

Votive chapel dedicated to Notre Dame du Rosaire, built at the end of the 16th century on the site of the former parish church. The chapel contains a splendid wooden altarpiece, carved, gilded and painted in 1673 and listed as a historic monument in 1957. The front of the altar, dated 1712, is one of the rare examples of this type of furniture from this period. A marble stoup decorated with angels' heads bears the date 1687. The gallery, with its elegant balustrade, includes a number of 17th-century pews, one of which has armrests in the shape of a horse's head.
